This week’s episode of The Traitors sees Alan Cumming hosting a lavish banquet, but the evening takes a dark turn when a Faithful is set to be murdered in full view by none other than Lisa Rinna.

The guests, both Faithful and Traitor, arrive at the event as if they were walking a red carpet, showcasing their glamorous attire. Candiace Dillard Bassett channels Beyoncé’s iconic 2017 Grammys look, Colton Underwood sports a pearl-studded dickey, and Maura Higgins dazzles in a metallic dress complemented by a matching, avant-garde hat.

However, it is Lisa who truly steals the spotlight, wearing an ensemble featuring a cursed amulet that she must use to carry out the murder. To execute this bold move, Lisa needs someone to unwittingly touch the amulet. She reveals that her potential targets are Yam Yam Arocho, Kristen Kish, or Natalie Anderson.

Having been previously accused by Colton of being a Traitor at the last Round Table, Lisa decides to showcase her dramatic flair. In a departure from her recent subdued demeanor, she makes a flamboyant entrance, greeting everyone with exaggerated enthusiasm and kisses. This bold approach ultimately leads her to orchestrate the amulet’s touch by faking a prick from the pin holding it to her dress. The identity of the victim remains a mystery for now.

After the guests enjoy a feast of carved meats, Alan Cumming captivates the group with a historical tale: In 1440, King James II invited a noble family to his castle under the guise of celebration, only to have them massacred, an event known as the Legend of the Black Dinner. This grim story, which allegedly inspired the Red Wedding, sets the tone for the evening. Alan announces that once again, a murder has taken place before their eyes. However, there is a glimmer of hope, as two antidote vials can save the victim—if the right person drinks it. “Alan, come on, an antidote? After I’ve done this beautiful, brilliant murder?” Lisa exclaims during her confessional.

Immediately, Yam Yam thinks he could be the victim, whispering, “Lisa kissed me,” but it’s Natalie who steals focus and makes herself the prime candidate for the antidote. She immediately declares, “I would like to drink the antidote,” while offering absolutely no reason why. Tara Lipinski also fears that she was a victim (although more than anything, she appears to be simply a victim of eating room temperature meat). As everyone argues and tries to remember whether or not a Traitor might have served them food that killed them, Mark Ballas declares, “Everyone’s eating the same turkey!” a motto I think I shall adopt when my kids argue about fairness and equity from now on. But it seems that no one is listening and the panicked conversation continues.

Everyone agrees Kristen should get a vial of potion because her picture showed up on a tarot card that was flipped earlier in the night, but things devolve into chaos as Natalie and Tara argue over which of them should drink the other vial. Natalie, who has always kept her cool throughout the competition, becomes insufferable as she whines about how much she needs this antidote.

THE TRAITORS 407 Natalie holds the bottle saying "I wanna drink it!"

Maura, God love her, has no patience for the whiny timber of Natalie’s voice, so she yells, “If you really want it just f—in’ drink it,” to Natalie who then guzzles it down as Tara watches in shock.

None of them actually know whether they interacted with a Traitor, though, and so just moments later, they’re stunned when Alan tells them that it was indeed Yam Yam who is the real victim. He is dramatically dragged away, but as he is, he yells to anyone who will listen, “It was Lisa. Lisa kissed me!”

The. Drama. Is. Biblical.

It’s also just so ironic that, I mean, yeah, is was Lisa, but it wasn’t the kiss that did it.

At breakfast the next day, everyone arrives knowing Yam Yam murdered, rather than the usual routine of scrounging for salmon while waiting to see who doesn’t show. The three Traitors arrive first, which gives Lisa and Candiace enough time to curse Rob out for voting for Lisa in the previous banishment ceremony, and once the rest of the group trickles in, everyone is a little more feisty than usual. When Alan arrives, he takes Yam Yam’s portrait off the wall to announce, “Yam Yam is toast toast,” probably my favorite eulogy of the season so far.

For the day’s challenge, the group is brought to a mountain with a monument at the top. They have to run from the base of the mountain to the monument, with the goal of filling their backpacks with gold rocks along the way. The person with the most gold rocks in their bag at the top receives a new Traitors prize, a dagger, which gives them two votes at any of the next four Round Tables. While the challenge seems simple enough, remember that they are running up a mountain with a backpack full of rocks. And you thought looking at your friend’s Instagram posts from their Crossfit class were brutal.

Before and during the challenge, Rob makes it known to several people that he thinks Yam Yam had no reason to lie when he implicated Lisa as a Traitor at the Black Banquet. While last week’s vote against Lisa seemed like smart strategy, this week, he’s clearly trying to cut her loose from his Traitor team now that her name is making the rounds. He even tells Colton he desperately wants the dagger so he can cast two votes for Lisa’s banishment. It’s a huge risk, being this open about selling out a fellow Traitor, but this is Rob’s new strategy now and he’s sticking with it.

The top six people with the most gold participate in another challenge where Rob, as the top gold earner, has to suss out which of the others might have a tablet with the image of a dagger on it. He calls himself a human lie detector and, in a first, he actually is correct when he determines that Natalie had it.

That means Rob gets to steal the dagger away from Natalie and now he possesses the double-vote. He makes a pact with the other five players, Natalie, Eric, Mark, Colton and Stephen, not to reveal which of them received the dagger. “Oh how cute,” Candiace says when she hears this, “The Dagger Six have their little pact. It’s just annoying.”

At the Round Table, Lisa immediately calls out Natalie for slipping up (much like Porsha Williams did early in the game) for saying “we murdered [one gamer]” rather than “we banished [one]”. It’s then that Rob comes to Natalie’s defense, or rather, he goes on offense, suggesting that Yam Yam, once he was murdered, had no reason to lie when he said Lisa’s name as he was being dragged out. Okay, I get what Rob is doing but I also really prefer my Traitors to remain in an alliance until the end (I realize this rarely happens). But Rob’s tactics work, and he persuades a majority of the table to vote out Lisa. (Candiace, who is clearly feeling a little spiteful, but doesn’t want to vote for Lisa or Natalie, announces that she’s casting a throwaway vote… for Rob!)

When Lisa steps into the Circle of Truth, she tells them all, “I never thought I could do this. I never thought I could last this long. What I’m going to tell you tonight is I am the most iconic, legendary, TRAITOR!”

THE TRAITORS 407 Lisa announces she is a "TRAITOR!!"

Lisa F—in’ Rinna, gone forever! On the one hand, I do think it was only a matter of time. On the other hand. That’s all. It was only a matter of time. As the group celebrates, Lisa, in her confessional says through tears, “Rob, damn you.” Lisa’s not the only Traitor angry at Rob. After the banishment, Candiace calls him a snake, saying, “betrayed the people that helped him… He made certain vicious choices that will have dire consequences for him.”

“I would have been happy to win this game with her,” Rob says of Candiace,” but now I have no idea how we’re going to work together.” Candiace though, is now in it for herself. “The Christian woman in is just clutching her pearls, I’m aghast. but the bad bitch that is Candiace is ready to play a motherf—ing game. I have to take the snake down and cut him off at the head.”

Lord help me, I can’t endure another Danielle-Carolyn situation in the turret. Can’t these kids work things out?
