Lawrence Oyor Biography
Born on June 16, 1991, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, Lawrence was raised in a deeply religious family. His parents, Rev. Gomba Fortune and Rev. Patience Oyor, are dedicated gospel ministers who founded the God Will Do It Ministries. Lawrence shares his spiritual journey with his twin brother, Godswill Oyor, who is also engaged in ministry. They have two other siblings, Michael and Wisdom Oyor, who are part of this devout family.
Lawrence’s educational journey began in Ibadan, where he attended Shalom Christian College. He pursued a degree in law at the University of Ibadan, graduating in 2013, before advancing to the Nigerian Law School in Yola. In 2016, he expanded his theological knowledge by enrolling in a short ministry training program at the Texas Bible Institute in the U.S., earning a Bible diploma after nine months of study.
Career
Despite his legal training, Lawrence Oyor felt a strong calling to full-time ministry. His passion for gospel work was evident during his university days when he organized a transformative six-week, 12-hour daily prayer event that sparked a revival. This led to the creation of Catalyst Network International, a ministry aimed at encouraging young people worldwide to embrace their faith in Jesus.
Lawrence also founded the Lawrence Oyor Mentorship Platform, which holds the annual Battle Axe Retreat, a spiritual gathering designed to rejuvenate Christians. Alongside his twin brother, he co-founded the Davidic Minstrels, through which they travel across Nigeria and beyond, leading worship and spreading revival through music and chants.
