Netflix is treating fans of Nobody Wants This to a closer look at Season 2.

The streamer dropped first-look photos of the new season of Erin Foster‘s comedy series, featuring series stars Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, and Jackie Tohn.

Season 2 finds agnostic podcaster Joanne (Bell) and rabbi Noah (Brody) continuing to navigate their differences as they pursue their feelings for each other. According to Netflix, and as fans of Season 1 can attest, “their unmatched surprised everyone in their lives, including her sister Morgan (Lupe), his brother Sasha (Simons) and sister-in-law Esther (Tohn), and even themselves.”

“Their spark proved stronger than all of the obstacles trying to keep them apart,” the Season 2 synopsis continues. “Now, they’re back and fully committed to merging their lives – and loved ones — together. But their differences still exist and can’t be ignored. The challenge now is not just falling in love against all odds, but staying together in spite of them.”

Tohn, who was promoted to a series regular ahead of Season 2, told DECIDER in February that her amped up role is “really exciting.”

“I think we’re really going to see a lot more multi-dimensionality from Esther. I just think she was very curt in Season 1,” she shared.

This season is also welcoming guest stars Leighton Meester (Brody’s wife IRL), Miles Fowler, Alex Karpovsky, and Shiloh Berman. Variety, who broke the news of Meester and Fowler’s guest roles in February, reported that Meester plays Abby, “Joanne’s (Bell) middle school nemesis who is now an Instagram mommy influencer.” Meanwhile Fowler plays Lenny, Noah’s “Matzah Ballers teammate who gets set up with Morgan.”

When asked about Meester and Fowler’s casting in February, Tohn told DECIDER at the time, “Oh, God, I want to kiss them both in the face. I love them so much.”

According to Deadline, Moayed plays a “charming, highly regarded (particularly by himself) psychotherapist” named Dr. Andy “who might just be the perfect match for Morgan.” Karpovsky plays Big Noah, who the outlet describes as “an overly confident rabbi at Noah’s temple.”

The series, which was named as one of DECIDER’s Best TV Shows of 2024, debuted in September 2024, and is loosely based on Foster’s love life.
