Ransom Canyon is Netflix’s latest sensation, and fans are wondering if the show has been renewed for season 2 after its enticing season 1 finale.

Has ‘Ransom Canyon’ Been Renewed for Season 2?

Ransom Canyon has not yet been renewed for season 2 at Netflix. The series debuted season 1 on the streaming service in April 2025.

Star Josh Duhamel Hinted That Season 2 of ‘Ranson Canyon’ Is Coming

When Josh Duhamel, who plays Staten Kirkland, was asked about whether or not the show was coming back for season 2, he shared a promising update.

“I want it to feel unpredictable, raw, real, and interesting,” the Safe Haven actor told Town & Country in April 2025. “I don’t know what they have planned — they’ve been in the writer’s room now for a bit, so we’ll see.”

The Cast Hopes for Season 2 of ‘Ransom Canyon’

Although the show has not yet been renewed, the cast members have shared some promising insight that hints that there might be some good news coming for fans soon.

Garrett Wareing, who plays Lucas Russell, shared what he hopes for his character in the future, telling TVLine in April 2025 that “the trajectory of Lucas is to be determined” and he “would love to see a mysterious character from his past come back into play.”

“I would love to see how that could shake things up in Ransom Canyon if he returns,” the actor teased, adding, “I’d like to have some scenes with Yancy and Quinn, and I’d love to ride more horses. And I’d love to skinny dip again.”

Minka Kelly, who plays Quinn O’Grady, was asked if she can envision her character playing the piano in New York in season 2. “I hope so. That would be really fun,” she told Entertainment Weekly in April 2025 of the prospective plot line.

The Friday Night Lights alum shared what kind of arc she would like to see her character take on in future seasons.

“I would love to explore the growth of Quinn and see what happens when she moves back to New York and chooses herself — decides to not take any more handouts, no more help from anyone, but make her own way and find her own way! Raise her own money and make her own money to save the dance hall or whatever she decides to do in her future,” Minka told Town & Country. “I would love to explore that.”

Show creator April Blair also shared with Tudum her hopes to continue the show after a successful season 1.

“My favorite feeling is when a show ends, and you don’t want it to end, and you just want more,” she told the outlet in April 2025. “It makes you feel warm and familiar, and you don’t want to let go. That is how I hope people feel. It’s how I feel about the show watching it.”

She also teased a possible time jump in season 2 if the show does come back.

“We would need to because I don’t want to do anything in New York,” April said. “Quinn needs to go away and save her ranch, and we need to see what the implications are for that punch that Davis goads Staten into doing and what that plot between Davis and Staten’s father, the senator, is like. I think we would probably do that because she says, ‘I’m going to go away for six months.’ So the idea right now, although nothing’s set in stone, is that we would do at least a six-month time jump.”
