Ahead of the release of her memoir, Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay revealed that her husband, Brock Davies, cheated on her. Shay admitted that Davies had an affair while she was pregnant with their child. The news has not gone down well with many Vanderpump Rules fans. They feel that if Shay had revealed her affair when she found out about it, she could have helped the show. It also made her treatment of co-star Ariana Madix feel hypocritical to many.

In her memoir, Shay admitted that she began to worry Davies was cheating on her due to rumors she heard. He continually assured her that he was being faithful to her. When she finally started to let her guard down, though, he admitted he had an affair.

“Brock said that with all of the fake news being published, he was afraid that something that actually was true might surface, and it was best that I heard it directly from him,” she wrote in her book My Good Side (per Glamour). “My whole body froze, and I remained in a state of paralyzed shock as he confessed that he’d cheated on me two years prior, when we were living in San Diego during the pandemic, while I was pregnant with Summer.”

Davies told Shay he began an affair because he was worried about having another child. He has two children from his previous marriage. They live in Australia, and he hasn’t seen them in years. 

“As I sat there, feeling completely sick to my stomach, he admitted that — at the time — he was scared about being a father again, specifically about whether he even deserved to be, and he chose to deal with it by sleeping with someone else,” she wrote. “I use the word ‘chose’ because it was very much a conscious decision. No one twisted his arm or dragged him into bed.”

When Shay’s friend, Ariana Madix, revealed her longtime partner, Tom Sandoval, had cheated on her, fans rallied around there. Shay is not receiving the same support. Many people feel that Shay treated Madix unfairly in the final season of Vanderpump Rules. Shay complained that Madix wasn’t putting parts of her life in front of the camera, but at the same time, she was concealing her partner’s affair.

“Scheana is such a hypocrite,” wrote one Reddit user. “Going on and on the last season about Ariana holding back and this is what she was holding back from the cameras. You know LaLa [Kent] probably knew too. Just so annoying.”

“Wait…. Whaaaaat. Im sorry but what the actual f***,” wrote another person. “Her and Lala slammed Ariana for not being ‘real’ enough yet she was hiding THIS THE WHOLE TIME!!!!!! Oh hell no.”

Others felt frustrated that airing out the affair would have given the show a good storyline. Many fans felt deeply dissatisfied with the final season, and it will now be revamped with a new cast. 

“Literally, and her and Brock were mad that Ariana wasn’t hanging out with Tom for the sake of the show!” wrote one person. “Meanwhile they were holding back their own bombshell.”

Others pointed out that Shay had an affair with Eddie Cibrian while he was married to a pregnant Brandi Glanville. Some people had a hard time feeling bad for her because of that.

“She did exactly the same to Brandi Granville with no care at all it was just to get on TV,” one person wrote. “As the old saying goes…how you find them is how you lose them!”

People are also furious with Brock Davies

While people are upset with Shay, they are angrier at Davies. People aren’t buying his excuse.

“‘I was scared of being a father so I dealt with it by having an affair,’” wrote one person. “Send this man to jail.”

They were also appalled that he cheated on her while she was pregnant with their child.

“So he did all this while Scheana was PREGNANT and it was a pandemic,” wrote another person. “Wow.”
