The recent reboot of Vanderpump Rules has sparked mixed reactions among the original cast members. While some remain skeptical about its success, others have shown their support. Venus Binkley, who appears in the newest season of the reality show, shared insights on which former cast member has been particularly encouraging.
A star of the ‘Vanderpump Rules’ reboot said an original cast member has been supportive
Binkley, who works as a server at Lisa Vanderpump’s renowned restaurant SUR, has joined the ensemble of Vanderpump Rules. He revealed that Tom Schwartz, from the original lineup, has been the most supportive figure during the show’s new chapter.
In a conversation with Decider, Binkley expressed his appreciation for Schwartz, stating, “Tom Schwartz has been the kindest and most approachable member from the original cast that I’ve encountered throughout this journey. I really admire him and feel privileged to receive his recognition. Since he’s often around SUR, I get the chance to see him frequently, and he consistently offers the best advice.”
According to Binkley, Schwartz’s advice is straightforward yet meaningful.
“He tells me to stay true to myself,” Binkley shared. “Interestingly, he often says that I end up giving him better advice than he offers me. With his extensive experience, he encourages me to be genuine and not let others influence me. The more authentic you are, the less you have to worry about, and the more you will shine.”
“Just to stay true to myself,” he said. “Hell, when I’m talking, he says I give him better advice than he’s giving me. He’s done this for so long, so he just wants me to be myself. Like, don’t let anyone get in my ear. The more authentic you are, the less you have to worry about and the brighter you’ll shine. “
Schwartz starred on the first 11 seasons of the show.
Lisa Vanderpump said the former ‘Vanderpump Rules’ star has supported the reboot
Vanderpump said she hasn’t heard from many of the former cast members about the show’s reboot. Of everyone, though, she said Schwartz and Lala Kent have been the most supportive. She also said that former cast member Stassi Schroeder has expressed her interest in the reboot.
“Stassi hasn’t been on the show for years,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “I work with her on Vanderpump Villa, she says, ‘I can’t wait to watch it.’ I think those three have [been the most supportive].”
Vanderpump said that the cast members who haven’t spoken in support of the show have disappointed her. Jax Taylor said he didn’t think the reboot would work, and Katie Maloney said the new version of the show looked cheap to her.
Former cast member Ariana Madix also defended the show
Ariana Madix has arguably been the most successful former Vanderpump Rules cast member. She said she has watched the show’s reboot and enjoyed it.
“I watched the first two episodes, and I thought it was really fun,” she told Us Weekly. “[I’m] not sure why everyone’s hating it.”
When Bravo announced the show’s reboot, Madix said the news was bittersweet. She thanked the fans for supporting her through her many seasons on the series.
“Thank you especially to the fans,” she wrote on Instagram. “You’ve been the constant over the last decade. Your love and support is what I’ll miss the most about it ending. You made this show what it is. To the fans who have shown up for us, old and new, it’s all because of you that we are here. Im feeling at peace with closing this chapter and I’m excited for everything that is to come. I don’t know that these were the best days of our lives, but they were definitely something special.”
