Venezia Secures €16M Transfer Agreement for Super Eagles Striker Adams

The Italian Serie A team, Venezia, has finalized a deal with Sevilla to acquire Nigeria’s international striker Akor Adams for a reported €16 million, according to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

This transfer marks a significant advancement in Adams’ career, following his resurgence in Spain after initially facing challenges in La Liga.

Move follows impressive turnaround

Adams transitioned to Sevilla from the French outfit Montpellier, but his early days at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium were difficult, marred by injuries that hindered his adaptation to the Spanish league.

However, the 26-year-old striker bounced back impressively in the 2025/26 season. He played a pivotal role for Sevilla, netting 10 league goals and providing three assists across 32 matches, thus cementing his status as one of the club’s dependable forwards.

His impressive performances caught the eye of several European clubs during the summer transfer window, and it was Venezia who acted swiftly to secure his services.

The Italian club have now reached a full agreement with Sevilla, with the transfer expected to be completed once the remaining formalities are finalised.

Venezia strengthen attack

Venezia view Adams as a key addition to their squad as they prepare for the 2026/27 Serie A campaign.

The club believe the Nigerian forward’s physical presence and goalscoring ability will strengthen their attack and improve their chances of competing in the Italian top flight.

For Adams, the move offers another opportunity to continue his development in one of Europe’s leading leagues after successfully overcoming the injury setbacks that affected the early stages of his spell in Spain.

The Super Eagles striker will also hope consistent performances at club level improve his standing in the Nigerian national team ahead of future international competitions.

If the transfer is completed as expected, Adams will become one of Venezia’s biggest investments in recent years, with the club banking on his recent form to justify the €16 million fee and make an immediate impact in Serie A.
