"Disappointed" Venita Aspen reacts to Craig Conover ending their friendship after she sided with Paige DeSorbo in messy split

It looks like Craig Conover lost Venita Aspen in the split.

The Southern Charm star told Deadline she was “quite disappointed” to hear Conover recently announce that he “won’t be associated” with her any longer after she commented on his breakup with Paige DeSorbo.

Conover made the bold claim during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live where he slammed Aspen for “regurgitating gossip from the internet.”

“I’m not friends with her and I wish her well, but no one’s entitled to my friendship, and she definitely isn’t anymore,” he stated, shocking even host Andy Cohen.

Aspen made it clear that she will not be reaching out to Conover to smooth things over after his comments.

“I don’t operate like that from a friendship level, even if it’s a new friend, an old friend, or a friend that I’ve had back and forth with,” she said to Deadline. “I think that I would have preferred him to be the quarterback that he is and lead his teammates in whatever direction he wanted us to go to versus deeming people who go against whatever he wants unworthy of friendship. We don’t talk, so what was I supposed to do?”

She continued, “It doesn’t take much to say, ‘Hey, I know we’re doing a job, but I really appreciate it if you got asked about our relationship, you didn’t talk about it.’ I would have said, ‘I completely understand.’”

Aspen went on to say that she would “highly appreciate it” if Conover reached out to talk things through. “But I’m not going to be the one to make the first move on that,” she said. “He’s already declared what he wants.”

However, one person has reached out to Aspen after Conover slammed her on national television: DeSorbo.

“She was quite disappointed in what she saw, and she reached out to me to check in [and] to make sure I was doing okay, which is really nice,” Aspen said of the Summer House star.

It looks like the breakup with DeSorbo has been a difficult one for Conover. He recently admitted on the Southern Charm After Show that the breakup has been “tough” on him.

“[I] know I’ll be okay but it just sucks,” he said.

Southern Charm airs Thursdays 8/7c on Bravo.
