Victor Moses, the former Super Eagles winger, has signed with Kazakhstan’s FC Kaysar, marking the 11th team in his professional football career as he continues playing at 35.

The seasoned player, who celebrated a Premier League victory with Chelsea in 2017, joined FC Kaysar as a free agent months after parting ways with Luton Town in England.

New chapter after Luton exit

Last season, Moses played in the EFL Championship with Luton Town, but unfortunately, the team faced relegation to League One. Following the season, he was released and spent several months without a club.

Despite limited appearances towards the end of the season, those close to Moses had made it clear that retirement was not on his agenda.

In a conversation with Africafoot before leaving Luton, a source affirmed Moses’s commitment to continue playing, stating that retirement was not an option.

That position has now been confirmed by his move to Central Asia.

Kaysar confirm signing

FC Kaysar announced the signing on social media, describing Moses as an experienced addition ahead of the new Kazakhstan Premier League season.

“The football club Kaysar officially announces the signing of an experienced midfielder Victor Moses,” the club said. “His joining the team is a clear proof of the team’s goals for the upcoming season.”

The club added that Moses’ experience would contribute to both team development and the growth of younger players.

Moses reacts

In a brief message to supporters at his unveiling, Moses said: “Hi Kaysar fans. It is a pleasure to be here.”

He later posted on Instagram: “Delighted to announce that I’ve joined FC Kaysar. Excited for what’s to come.”

Career and club context

Moses has previously featured for Chelsea, Liverpool, West Ham United, Inter Milan and several other clubs across England and Europe.

At international level, he represented Nigeria and was part of the Super Eagles squad that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

FC Kaysar finished 11th in the Kazakhstan Premier League last season, six points above the relegation zone.

The club did not register any foreign players in the previous campaign but have now added Moses alongside several other overseas signings.

The team plays its home matches at the 7,000-capacity Gani Muratbayev Stadium in Kyzylorda.
