VICTORIA MONET SAYS DAUGHTER HAZEL IS THE 'BEST THING I EVER MADE'

Victoria Monét’s life has transformed in the most beautiful way and it’s all thanks to her daughter, Hazel Grace. In a new cover story with BET Immersed , Monét described how her biggest successes came after becoming a mom. “The most success I’ve ever had came after Hazel, which I did not have in my bingo cards at all so it’s really amazing,” she said. Although the singer occasionally shares moments of Hazel with her fans, she’s mindful about how much she reveals. “This is the best thing I’ve ever made. So I’m like, ‘look, everyone. Look what she’s doing.’ I also feel like in business, perspective would help her later,” the proud mom continued. “I don’t know what the right answer is, and [social media’s] definitely a weird, dangerous place. But I think while I have control over it, she’s got a safety net, so I’m okay with sharing for now.” Last September, Monét announced she and Hazel’s father, John Gaines, had separated in 2023. Despite the split, they remain committed to co-parenting in a drama-free way. “I feel honored to have a partner in co-parenting that’s not drama-based,” said Monét. “It’s very clean communication. No ill intent. It’s been such a blessing, and we wanted to make a pact for each other. If we have things we need to discuss, it’s me and you. We don’t have to go to the internet. We’re just making it a very mature, seamless situation because Hazel will see it all.” “Also, we have a lot of help,” Monét added. “My mom comes down often. We have a nanny, so I have no room to complain. People who don’t have the support, they’re the true single moms.”  Victoria Monét is also expanding her creative pursuits with the upcoming release of her first children’s book, “Everywhere You Are”, set for June 2025. The book offers a comforting message for children and parents alike, reminding them that love remains strong even when they are apart.  “The book is really about empowering women or caregivers to feel free to go and do their thing but also know that they gave the message to their children and their loved ones that even when I’m away from you, I still am here with you,” she explained.  To read the interview in its entirety, click here.   Photo: Victoria Monét Instagram
