Is revisiting the past a risky endeavor or a delightful excursion? This is the question Kate, played by Mae Whitman, and Callum, portrayed by Julian Morris, grapple with in an exclusive sneak peek from Episode 4 of Twelve Dates ‘Til Christmas, presented by DECIDER.

If you missed last Friday’s debut of the Hallmark Channel’s new miniseries, which draws inspiration from Jenny Bayliss’ 2020 book, The Twelve Dates of Christmas, here’s the scoop: The series centers around Kate, a textile designer. Her best friend Laura, played by Lucy Eaton, nudges her into participating in a festive matchmaking service, despite Kate’s initial reluctance.

Joining Kate on this romantic journey is her lifelong confidante, Callum. The exclusive clip reveals that Callum has not let go of a meaningful moment from their shared history. In this glimpse into Episode 4, aptly named “‘Tis the Season for Mama Drama,” Kate heaps praise on Callum, highlighting his many appealing qualities, such as being a “small business owner” and his culinary skills in making “an incredible oxtail soup,” all while adding a touch of friendly teasing.

“You dress like an old professor, but some people are into that,” she playfully jabs. “And let’s see, you surround yourself with strong, capable, funny women.”

The conversation takes a more profound turn when Kate acknowledges Callum as both “a great friend” and “a great kisser,” reminiscing about a kiss they shared during their university days. Callum takes notice of the latter compliment as Kate wraps up her thoughts by declaring him “pretty much the whole package.”

“Great kisser?” Callum asks.

But Kate brushes it off as just “part of the sales pitch.”

“Who can remember? It was like 15 million years ago,” she scoffs.

However, Callum never forgot the moment they shared.

“I can. I can remember that kiss,” he replies. “Kate tell me, when did you and I become a joke?”
