The newest victim of such an ordeal is Tennessee Titans’ defensive tackle, Jeffery Simmons. While Simmons was in Santa Clara competing against the San Francisco 49ers on December 14, his home fell prey to burglars.
The latest football player to learn his home was burglarized while he was away playing a game is Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons. The athlete was in Santa Clara with his team playing the San Francisco 49ers on Dec. 14 when the break-in took place.
Simmons contacted authorities once he got back home the following morning and released video footage of what the cameras inside his property captured.
According to the Metro Nashville PD, the burglary happened shortly after 7 p.m. local time, when at least six suspects entered after smashing out window glass. Multiple items were taken.”
The Titans said in a statement, “Team security is actively working with Metro Nashville Police Department to recover items stolen from Jeff Simmons’ house. No residents were home during the burglary.”
The three-time Pro Bowler also released a statement that read: “I want to extend my sincere appreciation to the Metro Nashville Police Department and the Titans’ security team for their professionalism and swift response. Their dedication to ensuring the safety of our entire Nashville community does not go unnoticed. I remain thankful for God’s protection and grace.”
The break-in at Simmons’ residence is the latest in a string of NFL stars who have also had their homes robbed while they’re not there, including Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, Cleveland Browns quarterback Shadeur Sanders, and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
