Netflix‘s Wayward has only been out for a few days and fans are already pleading for a second season.

After premiering on Netflix on September 25, the show — created and starring comedian Mae Martin — has quickly found a fanbase that is dying to see what happens next with Alex (Martin), Laura (Sarah Gadon), Evelyn (Toni Collette), and the kids of Tall Pines Academy.

**Spoilers ahead for Season 1 of Netflix’s Wayward**

At the end of Season 1, so many questions are left unanswered, including whether or not Abbie (Sydney Topliffe) is going to come back to Tall Pines for Leila (Alyvia Alyn Lind) and Rory (John Daniel), after narrowly escaping Evelyn’s clutches. We also want to know if Alex and Laura are really going to stay in their sleepy city, and if Laura is going to truly become the new leader.

So, is Season 2 happening? When is it going to premiere? Fear not, here’s everything we know about Wayward Season 2.

Will There Be a Season 2 of Wayward?

At this time, Netflix has not renewed Wayward for a second season. It’s unclear if the streaming service and Martin have had conversations about bringing the show back.

What Has the Cast Said About a Season 2 of Wayward?

In an exclusive interview with DECIDER, Lind said that while she hasn’t heard about any plans for a second season yet, she is hopeful that Netflix gives them another go. “Oh my gosh, I would do it anytime, anywhere. Call me up, I’m there. I had the most incredible time ever working on this project; it was such a blessing, and I would love to come back. Whenever you want us, we’re here, we’re ready.”

As for what she would hope to see for her character in a second season, she has one simple request for Leila, if Martin is out there listening. “Season 2 ideas, I’m gonna leave that up to Mae, the genius behind the operation. But maybe if I had any two cents to put in, it would just be, like, maybe one storyline where Leila’s happy.” Fair enough.

When Could Wayward Season 2 Premiere on Netflix?

Seeing as Martin has been open about the fact that it took more than five years to bring the show to the world, if the show gets renewed, we can only expect it will be at least a year or two until the second season premieres.

What Could Season 2 of Wayward Be About?

The first season of the psychological thriller ends with (spoiler alert) the death of Evelyn and the birth of Laura and Alex’s child, all as Abbie finally escapes Tall Pines Academy, leaving Rory and Leila behind for the time being. And while Alex pictures himself running away with Abbie and taking his newborn with him, it’s nothing more than a fantasy as he makes the decision to stay with his wife and child, shutting the door and closing off the possibility of a getaway.

The most obvious choice to explore in a second season is Abbie going back to rescue her friends from Tall Pines, even if Leila chose to stay. It would also be great to see a storyline about Alex trying desperately to get out of the cult Laura has now started, with or without their child.

Wayward Season 1 is now streaming on Netflix.
