Wednesday Season 2 might be chock-full of mysteries, but the fate of Percy Hynes White‘s character Xavier Thorpe is not one of them.

The premiere of Wednesday Season 2, which aired Aug. 6, quickly writes off Hynes White’s character from the show, explaining why fans will not be seeing Xavier again after the actor was dropped from the show after he was accused of sexual assault in 2024.

In the episode, Nevermore Academy Principal Barry Dort (played by Steve Buscemi) announced in the episode that Xavier has transferred to the Reichenbach Academy in Switzerland.

Jenna Ortega‘s Wednesday Addams also receives a foreboding painting and a note from Xavier in the episode.

“I tried texting, but I guess you lost the phone I gave you,” he writes. “Consider this my goodbye gift. The image suddenly flashed in my head. Don’t ask me how I know or what it means, but it’s connected to you, I’m sure. Who’s Wednesday Addams without a mystery to solve, right?”

Co-showrunner Alfred Gough confirmed to TVLine that Wednesday fans will not be seeing Xavier again.

“We have seen the last of him,” Gough said, adding that Xavier is attending “a boarding school we mentioned in Season 1, Reichenbach, which is like the European version of Nevermore.”

Hynes White was written off of the show after he was accused of sexual assault by an anonymous accuser who claimed he had assaulted them and “cornered and pressured and assaulted multiple” of their friends. He denied the allegations at the time, calling it “a campaign of misinformation.”

After he was ousted from the show, Hynes White shared an image of the cast on his social media in May 2024 with the caption, “I had so much fun working on this show. I can’t wait to watch season 2 🙂 Much love,” per People.

Gough made it clear that Hynes White’s exit from the show does not mean there won’t be more romance in store for Wednesday this season. With Xavier out of the picture, Tyler (Hunter Doohan) may actually stand a chance with Wednesday now.

Wednesday Season 2, Part 1 is streaming now on Netflix. Part 2 will premiere Sept. 3.
