Lydia Plath is mourning the devastating loss of her first child.
The Welcome to Plathville personality revealed that she and her husband, Zac Wyse, experienced a pregnancy loss while awaiting the arrival of their baby.
In a joint Instagram statement shared Oct. 14, the couple wrote, “There’s no words for the pain as we grieve the loss of our little angel.” They described the baby as “our first child, our greatest love, and a true miracle,” adding that they were “so grateful for the short time we had with our baby bean.”
Plath and Wyse said their child was cherished and celebrated throughout the pregnancy. “You were so loved and celebrated every day we had with you,” they wrote, recalling how family members, honorary aunts and uncles, and friends were eagerly preparing to welcome the baby. “All so excited to love you and meet you but now you’re gone too soon.”
In her tribute, Plath also appeared to reflect on the possibility that her baby is now with her younger brother, Joshua, who died in a farming accident in 2008 at 17 months old.
“Give my brother a hug for me,” she wrote. “Can’t wait to meet you in heaven.”
