'SNL's 50th Anniversary Show': start time, channel, where to watch online and TV

I’ve been streaming an absurd amount of Saturday Night Live content as I prepare for the show’s hotly anticipated 50th-anniversary special.

I watched Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of SNL Music and SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night Live on Peacock, Jason Reitman’s 2024 movie Saturday Night on Netflix, and I’ve been loving the Saturday Night Network’s deep dives into every SNL season on YouTube. If you’re a fan of the series, I highly recommend subscribing to the Saturday Night Network channel. They do tremendous work.

SNL50: The Anniversary Special will feature a who’s who of Hollywood heavyweights (more on that below) as we celebrate half a century of comedy. The recently announced musical guests include Paul McCartney, Miley Cyrus, Brittany Howard, Paul Simon, Lil Wayne, Sabrina Carpenter, and The Roots.

How can you watch all the fun online? Here’s everything you need to know.

What Time Does SNL50: The Anniversary Special Start Tonight?

This must-see event airs live from 8:00-11:00 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. A special red carpet preshow hosted by Willie Geist and Leslie Jones will air on NBC, E!., and Peacock from 7:00-8:00 p.m. ET.

How To Watch SNL50: The Anniversary Special Live On TV:

You can watch Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary special live on NBC or NBC.com (with a valid cable login). You can also stream the celebration live with an active subscription to Sling TV, fuboTV, Hulu + Live TV, DirecTV Stream, or YouTube TV. All of the services above offer an NBC live stream.
