The latest episode of IT: Welcome to Derry introduced viewers to the terrifying presence of Pennywise the Clown, brought to life by Bill Skarsgård. In a twist, the HBO series also revealed Madeline Stowe’s character, Ingrid, to be more than just a compassionate nurse at Juniper Hill. She is, in fact, the younger version of Mrs. Kersh, the daughter of the original Pennywise, solidifying her place in the Stephen King universe as a formidable horror figure.

Episode 5 of IT: Welcome to Derry cleverly wove in elements from other Stephen King stories. Chris Chalk’s character, Dick Hallorann, had to confront his “lockbox,” a notion familiar to fans of The Shining and its sequel, Doctor Sleep. Additionally, Stephen Rider’s Hank Grogan narrowly avoided incarceration at Shawshank, the infamous prison from King’s lore, by escaping a bus crash en route.

Curious about what lies ahead? Here’s your guide to catching IT: Welcome to Derry Episode 6.
