The epic tale of David and Goliath will be brought to life in Prime Video‘s new biblical drama.
House of David follows the Biblical icon as he goes from outcast teenager to the anointed king by the prophet Samuel at the behest of God. David finds himself on a journey of self discovery, love, and loss as he grows into the leader his country needs, while King Saul falls deeper into the trap set by his pride.
The House of David cast stars Michael Iskander as David, Ali Suliman as King Saul, Ayelet Zurer as Queen Ahinoam, Stephen Lang as Samuel, and Martyn Ford as Goliath.
“House of David is our telling of a 3,000 year old hero’s journey, and it all starts with our David, Michael Iskander. Finding Michael and getting to work with him has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. Our entire cast is incredible, and I can’t wait for a global audience to get to know them the way I do,” said House of David executive producer and director Jon Erwin in a Prime Video press release.

Where was House of David filmed?
House of David largely filmed in Greece, utilizing the country’s architecture to bring true authenticity to the series, and Calgary, Alberta.
Ford shared a photo of himself and Isklander on set at Kappa Studios Ant1 in Spata, Greece, in Aug. 2024. “Is there even a David, with out Goliath ? … so excited to show you all what an incredible show we have been working on …. When this lands on your screens, be ready for a surprise,” he wrote.
According to Moviedelic, the film also shot at the Ancient Messene, in Messini, and The Old Town of Nafplio.
Series creator Jon Erwin shared a video on social media from January 2023 of their first scouting trip in Greece. “First time I scoured and absolutely fell in LOVE with Greece for #HouseofDavid it really is one of the most beautiful places on earth,” he wrote.
The show also filmed in Calgary, Alberta, for the landscape. Many scenes were reportedly filmed at the CL Western Town and Backlot, per Moviedelic.
