Gen V swooped back in with a thrilling Season 2 that launches the former Guardians of Godolkin into the resistance as growing anti-human sentiment takes hold of God U. While the spinoff is set in the same universe as Prime Video’s hit superhero series The Boys, it still sets itself apart while supplementing The Boys‘ looming conclusion.

But Gen V also seems to be teeing up The Boys’ looming conclusion, which means it’s ripe for crossovers from some of our favorite – and least favorite – superheroes.

Gen V Season 2 follows Marie (Jaz Sinclair), Jordan (Derek Luh and London Thor), Emma (Lizze Broadway) upon their return to Godolkin University after being held at the Elmira Adult Rehabilitation Center. The Vought-controlled university is under new leadership with Dean Cipher (Hamish Linklater) that has adopted the company’s supe-first sentiment after it was revealed in Season 1 that former Dean Indira Shetty was developing something that could eradicate superheroes.

This semester, Marie and her friends are trying to get to the bottom of what Cipher is up to. But nothing goes down at Godolkin University without Vought finding out.

So, which characters from The Boys will appear in Gen V Season 2? And what could their cameos reveal about The Boys Season 5? Here’s everything we know so far.

  • Dogknott

The Boys Season 4 featured a minor but unforgettable character who makes an appearance in Gen V Season 2 premiere: Dogknott (actor Zach McGowan). The bounty hunter sets out to find Marie, likely after being hired by Vought. And his reputation from The Boys seems to hold up after he takes a beat to flirt with a dog.

  • Starlight

Annie January herself, Starlight from The Boys is the first character to make an appearance in Gen V Season 2. The last time we saw Erin Moriarty‘s character was in The Boys Season 4 finale when she and Hughie were ambushed on the road as they tried to get away. Hughie was captured, unfortunately, but Starlight managed to escape by flying away from the scene.

That’s why she is such a welcome face when she reappears in Gen V Season 2, Episode 1. Starlight saves Marie from Dog Knot who tracked her down in the dingy motel Marie was hiding out in. Starlight ultimately advises her to return to God U for several reasons – not only is it the “safest” place for Marie, but Starlight reveals that she is working with a mysterious group to figure out a way to take down Vought, which is why she needs Marie’s help in figuring out what this mysterious Project Odessa entails.

“Is it a Hail Mary? Yeah. But this is war, Marie,” she tells the young superhero. “What if this is Homelander’s fucking nuke? Shouldn’t we stop it?”

It’s also clear that Starlight is still on the run at this point as she says she’s been “sleeping in shitholes.” She certainly seems to be working with a coordinated effort against Vought, but there’s no mention of whether or not she’s reunited with The Boys.

  • The Deep

It almost comes as no surprise that The Deep (Chace Crawford) would still be deeply involved with his Godolkin University fraternity. Season 2, Episode 2 features a surprise cameo from The Deep, who took some time from his responsibilities with the Seven to help his brothers out with a brutal pledge hazing ritual that includes a massive dildo. And in typical Deep fashion, he absolutely revels in it, calling it a “joyous occasion.”

The Deep’s cameo doesn’t necessarily reveal anything about what’s to expect from Vought or Homelander. This almost makes sense considering this supe is not necessarily the sharpest tool in the shed.

  • Firecracker

Firecracker (Valorie Curry) also makes an appearance in Episode 2 during her day job as a conservative pundit on Vought News. As she reports on Cate Dunlap’s attack, her diatribe conveniently sanitizes the role Cate played in the Season 1 finale when the young supe banded together with Homelander in his plot to take power over humans.

Firecracker’s appearance doesn’t necessarily reveal much about what fans should expect in The Boys‘ final season. But it does reveal the type of rhetoric Vought has been spreading now that the country is practically under Homelander’s control.

“Cate, the angel who saved countless super-able lives during the massacre at Godolkin was viciously attacked last night,” Firecracker announces on the show. “If a beautiful, righteous, god-fearing hero like her was targeted, then none us are safe. This is a hate crime against the most prosecuted minority group in history: Superheroes. But they sure picked the wrong group to mess with.”
