Prince William and the Princess of Wales were guests at a 50th birthday party Kate’s sister, Pippa, recently threw for her husband, James Matthews. The bash took place at Pippa and Matthews’ grand estate in West Berkshire on Sept. 20.

Apparently, things were a little over the top and everyone partied hard all night and engaged in antics that had their neighbors beyond ticked off.

‘Wild’ party for the ‘entitled’ led to noise complaints

The 50th birthday bash the princess’s sibling put together for her billionaire hubby was a hit with guests, but not with her neighbors.

 According to the Daily Mail, the party’s theme was “racy,” a nod to Matthews’ passion for motorsports as he is a former racing driver and a board member of the British F1 team Atlassian Williams Racing.

The event began in the afternoon with a Spitfire (World War II-era fighter plane) flying right over their home. That alone rubbed many locals the wrong way, but then other happenings at the couple’s private 145-acre estate were heard far and wide as several neighbors fumed over noise complaints.

The party lasted into the early morning hours, with one resident who lives in the area saying they heard music and thumping still going at 1:30 a.m. Other neighbors described the party as “wild” and claimed it caused an “uproar,” leaving many “furious” and lashing out at Pippa, calling her “entitled” and “inconsiderate.”

“I thought this might happen when Pippa moved in. People with money,” one person complained, while another added, “It’s common courtesy and respect. There are a lot of very nice people who have a lot of money, but this is about entitlement. I’m a night owl, and I do like parties but I’m also aware of others. They could easily have had a silent disco.”

In addition to the Prince and Princess of Wales, some of the other partygoers included retired racer Christian Horner and his wife, former Spice Girls member Geri Halliwell, as well as Matthews’ brother, Spencer Matthews, and his wife, Vogue Williams.

Pippa and James Matthews tend to stay out of the spotlight as much as possible

Even though she is the sister of the future queen, Pippa and her husband don’t find their names in the headlines too often these days as they try to keep their life private.

Pippa and the chief executive of Eden Rock Capital Management Group first started dating in 2012. They broke up for a few years before rekindling their romance in 2015. The following year, they announced their engagement. Matthews proposed with an Asscher-cut diamond surrounded by a halo of smaller round-cut diamonds. The ring is over three carats. 

The two were married on May 20, 2017, at St. Mark’s Church in Berkshire, England. Today, they have three children. Their oldest, a son, Arthur, was born in 2018; followed by their daughter, Grace, born in 2021; and their daughter, Rose, born in June 2022.
