On December 17, viewers tuning into the ‘Survivor’ finale will experience a brief interruption due to a scheduled address by President Donald Trump.
Fans of Survivor should brace themselves for a slight delay during tonight’s broadcast.
The eagerly anticipated three-hour finale of the show’s 49th season begins at 8 p.m. ET/PT. However, CBS will momentarily halt the program at 9 p.m. to air a special primetime announcement from President Donald Trump before resuming the dramatic journey to the final vote.
“The Survivor finale will resume where it left off immediately following the president’s address for Eastern and Central Time Zone viewers on the CBS Television Network and air in its entirety. Check your local listings for more details,” CBS shared in its programming announcement.
Heading into the finale, five castaways remain in the running for the show’s Sole Survivor title: Rizo Velovic, Savannah Louie, Sophi Balerdi, Sage Ahrens-Nichols, and Kristina Mills. Three will advance to face the jury in the season’s last episode.
Trump’s abrupt decision to speak to the nation about what he has accomplished so far in his second term threw a wrench into all the broadcast network’s Wednesday lineups, forcing them to awkwardly adjusts schedules at the last-minute.
The president’s speech also conflicts with the finale of The Floor Season 3 on Fox. Meanwhile, ABC is scheduled to air the iHeart Radio Jingle Ball 2025 holiday special from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET/PT. The special will be interrupted for the speech and resume after a delay, Deadline reports. On NBC, A Christmas in Nashville is set for 9 p.m. It will now air after the president’s address.
