Wendi McLendon-Covey, known for her memorable role in the comedy hit “Bridesmaids,” recently opened up about her absence from a notable reunion at the 2026 Oscars. Held at the iconic Dolby Theater in Hollywood on March 15 and hosted by Conan O’Brien, the event brought together her co-stars Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, and Ellie Kemper.
While fans were eager to see the entire ensemble back together, Wendi took to Instagram to explain her absence. In a candid post, she shared a selfie from her bed, a stretch band wrapped around her head, humorously confessing, “I had a neck lift last week because I’m tired of looking like a melting candle. So I had to skip the Academy Awards.”
Ensuring there were no misunderstandings, the 56-year-old actress reassured her followers that there was no behind-the-scenes drama among the cast. She emphasized, “No drama. Everything is fine,” putting to rest any speculation of tension among the beloved group of actresses.

Though Wendi had to skip the reunion, the rest of her stone-cold pack of weirdos had a blast sharing the stage together.
“We are so happy to all be here together tonight,” Kristen said from stage. “I cannot believe that it’s been 15 years now. We are not good with numbers, but we figured it out backstage. That means we shot this movie in 1883.”
