A internet fraudster, popularly known as a “Yahoo boy,” has allegedly scammed a German woman of $18,000 after posing as a professional website designer.
According to a series of videos shared on TikTok, the woman revealed that the scam began after she publicly requested the services of a website designer during a speech.
The fraudster, disguising himself as a tech expert, reached out and convinced her he could build her website.
She agreed to work with him, only to later discover that he was a scammer—after he unknowingly saved her number and posted his picture on his WhatsApp status. Upon seeing his photo, she realized she had been duped.
Detailing her loss, she wrote:
“🙏🏻 I’m in debt, $18k in general. That’s why him and I made a deal. I sent PayPal for templates and gave the domains, etc. My loss is in losing time where it should be working now.”
Despite the emotional and financial toll, the woman urged the public not to go after the scammer, stating that she had no intention of exposing his identity or encouraging a witch hunt.
“I’m not dropping the name. I don’t want a witch hunt,” she added.
The revelation sparked widespread reactions online, with many TikTok users taking to the comment section to express their shock and sympathy.
