YG and Catelyn Jennefer had plenty of reasons to rejoice over the weekend.

Their daughter, Harmony, not only celebrated her 11th birthday but also marked her transition from elementary school.

Images from the joyous occasion captured Harmony surrounded by loved ones at what appeared to be a backyard gathering. The event was adorned with green and black balloons, tables brimming with gifts, and an abundance of flowers. In another series of snapshots, Harmony donned a dazzling red graduation dress, clutching bouquets and presents as her mother embraced her warmly.

In one particular photo, Harmony and YG were seen wearing coordinated neutral outfits, sharing a special moment during the festivities.

“I now have an 11-year-old 6th grader, all in one weekend,” Catelyn shared on Instagram. “Swipe to the last slides to see why I’ve been emotional all weekend.”

Harmony also posted about the big weekend on her own page.

“I turned 11 & graduated to middle school all in 1 weekend!” she wrote. “thank you to everyone that showed up and supported me.”

YG is dad to daughters Harmony Jackson, who was born in 2015, and Vibe Jackson, who was born in 2019.

The rapper has previously spoken about how becoming a father changed his outlook on life, especially after Harmony was born. During an interview, the rapper recalled a shooting that happened shortly after her birth and said the moment pushed him to start moving differently and being more mindful about the people and spaces around him.

“The place I got shot at, my daughter was there but she had just left,” he said. “That sh*t right there had me trippin’ because my daughter was supposed to be there. I was like, ‘Nah, bro. I gotta change.’”

“I started changing how I was moving,” he continued. “My movement, people, being in certain spaces, and knowing where I was at, that started to change.”

The rapper also shared that raising daughters has influenced the way he carries himself as a man.

“[Harmony] really calmed medown. She was definitely the reason why I came home a lot of the time. Now, my kids are older and they’re watching. It’s tough. It’s different because you’re trying to raise your daughters to be very respectable women; so you can’t be trying to teach them and tell them to be like this but you’re out here doing something else,” he explained.
