Zaya Wade is 18 years old!

In honor of the special milestone, Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union took to Instagram to share birthday tributes to their daughter,

Union posted a video of her stepdaughter with the caption, “Happy 18th birthday to you @zayawade!!!”

The 52-year-old actress continued, “You are so loved and cherished and you make us so proud daily. May year 18 bring you blessings, adventures, and glorious peace. Love you!!!” 

Zaya’s father, Dwyane Wade, shared a video clip from an interview with his daughter on their new show, TIMEOUT, and wished her a happy birthday while giving fans a chance to get to know her better.

“My Zaya turns 18 today!!! We took a moment as dads to get to know more about Zaya, on our very own show TIMEOUT on the @wynetwork 🎙️ Everyone tune in to our YouTube channel now to hear more on this conversation! Link in bio,” he captioned the clip. 

Zaya came out as transgender in 2020, at the age of 12. Since then, she has been a staunch advocate of transgender and queer rights, co-founding Translatable, with her father.

Translatable is a digital platform aimed at providing a safe space for LGBTQ+ youth to express themselves, connect with others, and receive support, according to several sources.

The 18-year-old has fully embraced her identity, transforming it into a powerful force as a sought-after face for major brands like MAC Cosmetics, Miu Miu, and Chanel, to name a few.

In addition to Zaya, Wade is also father to son, Zaire, with whom he shares with his ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches. Wade also shares another son, Xavier, with ex-Aja Metoyer. The NBA legend and Union are parents to daughter, Kaavia James, and Wade is also the legal guardian of his nephew, Dahveon Morris.
