Drew Wilborn Arrested And Charged With Sexual Indecency With a Child- Is He In Jail?

Drew Wilborn arrested on Wednesday for sexual indecency charge with a child. The Dallas Police arrested the Prosper Independent School District board president.

Wilborn is a 43-year-old school leader based in North Texas who was involved in a vast scandal about indecency with a child.

The Prosper ISD Board of Trustees President has been scrutinized lately for the accusations against him.

Reportedly, the child was inappropriately touched by Drew, an executive pastor at Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.

More details about his arrest and information regarding his bond and attorney have not been released yet.

Drew Wilborn Arrested For Sexual Indecency With a Child

Dew Wilborn is a Prosper Independent School District board president arrested for sexual indecency with a child.

Jail records show that the Prosper ISD board president was arrested on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 afternoon.

Dallas Police learned about the incident involving a minor and the school board president on April 12, 2022.

After an investigation, the Police issued an arrest warrant against the 43-year-old. He was taken into custody at his home in Celina, Texas.

Wilborn is booked into the Dallas County Jail on a charge of indecency with a 16-year-old child contact. 

Whether a bond was set or the Prosper ISD president received an attorney has not been clarified as of Wednesday.

Prosper Independent School District released a statement clarifying that the situation does not involve any Prosper students.

The Prosper ISD also referred all questions regarding the situation to the Dallas Police Department.

In 2022, Wilborn oversaw several confrontational meetings with parents who questioned Prosper ISD’s handling of sexual abuse allegations against a bus driver.

The board of trustees hired a law firm to investigate the allegations made by the parents of two elementary school sisters aged 5 and 7.

They expressed their frustration about the lack of proper action against the driver who allegedly sexually abused their daughters over 100 times in over a year.

Frank Paniagua, the accused bus driver, died by suicide after jumping from the second floor at the Collin County Jail. He was paralyzed and died days later.

More About Drew Wilborn

Drew Wilborn is the president of the Prosper Independent School District board of trustees.

The 43-year-old, recently elected to the presidency, ran a huge campaign for the board and began his three-year term in 2021.

Wilborn completed his Bachelor of Science in Accounting Control Systems from the University of North Texas in 2002.

He graduated with an MA in Christian Education from Dallas Baptist University in 2014.

The current ISD board of trustees president moved to Prosper with his wife and family in June 2017.

Regarding work experience, Drew was a Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas employee, having worked as an accounting supervisor and financial analyst.

A devout Christian, the 43-year-old has been associated with Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church for over 16 years, where he was a chief financial officer and a pastor.
