On August 22, 1990, Adam John Thielen, aka Adam Thielen, was born in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, to Pete and Jayne Thielen.

Adam Thielen, the Father of three children and husband of Caitlin Thielen, showcased his performance to confirm an invitation to the Super Regional Combine held in Dallas, Texas, in April after not receiving an invitation at the 2013 NFL combine.
On May 6, 2013, the Minnesota Vikings had a contract with Thielen for a three-year, about $1.48 million as an undrafted free agent.
