Poland was eliminated from World Cup 2022 on Sunday (4 December 2022) after losing to France 3-1 in the last 16. Robert is 34 and will be 38 by the next World Cup.
Poland’s national football team captain scored a late consolation from the penalty for Poland. The fierce French attack outclassed Poland.
After the exit, the athlete was asked if he had played his last ever game at the World Cup. He refused to confirm the matter. Instead, the Poland captain suggested that he is more likely to end his international career for reasons other than his physical state.
The former Bayern Munich striker said physically; he is not worried. Still, many other things (besides football) will determine whether this will be the last game or not.
He added, “whether your happiness is still there and what’s going on around, it’s tough to say now.”
Despite his team’s exit, Poland’s national football team captain insisted they had a successful tournament as they made it out of the group stage for the first time since 1986.

Poland coach Czeslaw Michniewicz acknowledged that it became challenging for Robert to shine at the highest level because he didn’t play for a top international team.
The coach continued Lewandowski could lead Poland into future competitions with the next goal of Euro 2024 in Germany.
“He is the Leader of the national team and will choose his own future, but based on how he is now performing, I believe he can serve as captain for many years to come,” Czeslaw added.

The Barcelona Striker was born on 21 August 1968 to his parents, Krzysztof and Iwona Lewandowski. He has one sister, Milena Lewandowski, a rising volleyball player.
