Fans are curious to know about Dana Dokmanovich’s parents and her family after Franco Harris’s death.

At halftime of their game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday night, the Pittsburgh Steelers held a somber ceremony to honor Franco Harris, a Hall of Fame running back who had his number 32 retired.

The long-awaited recognition occurred one day after the 50th anniversary of “The Immaculate Reception,” which Harris pulled off in a playoff victory over the Raiders, three days after Harris’s death at age 72.

Many of Harris’ former teammates, coaches, and rivals-turned-friends stood nearby as his widow, Dana Dokmanovich Harris, and their son, Dok Harris, joined Steelers president Art Rooney II on stage.

Dana Dokmanovich Parents: Who Are They?

Dana Dokmanovich was born to her parents in Serbia. Her mother’s name is Bess Dokmanovich, and her Father’s name is unknown.

Franco and his wife Dana have been seen together at numerous public events throughout their marriage. However, she has kept most of the specifics of her private life private because so little is known about her.

According to Blount Jr.’s book, Dana Dokmanovich’s parents are from Serbia. She immigrated to the United States as a young child and had little memory of her previous European life. Dana, her husband, and their son Dok resided in Pittsburgh with Dana’s mother.

In addition to being “Franco’s mother-in-law,” she claims to have served as his secretary.

Franco Harris Wife: His Married Life With Dana Dokmanovich

Franco Harris was married to his wife, Dana Dokmanovich, for a long time. The two fell in love after meeting in college and have been together ever since. Dana Dokmanovich also went to Penn State University, where Franco Harris went to school.

Franco played for the Seattle Seahawks and the Pittsburgh Steelers and is well-known for his part in “The Immaculate Reception.”

Dok, the son of Dana and Franco, was raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is a lawyer who also works in the business world. According to his Facebook page, he studied political economy at Princeton University before enrolling in the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

He also attended the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon. He challenged Mayor Luke Ravenstahl in the Pittsburgh mayoral race in 2009.

Dok was interviewed with Pittsburgh Magazine in September 2010. According to the article, Dana did not want her son to pursue a career in football.

Franco Harris Family: Their Nationality And Ethnicity

Franco was born to a Black Father and an Italian mother. Because of his Italian ethnicity, his staunchest backers established a group known as “Franco’s Italian Army.” 

His nationality is American and a loud ethnic group, according to the publication, supported him. The title of Franco’s well-known play, which made its debut on December 23, 1972, just so happens to use biblical language, even though his religious affiliation is unknown.

On March 7, 1950, Franco was born to his mother, Gina Parenti Harris, and Father, Cad Harris.

His Father, Cad, fought in World War II as a Black soldier. He was posted in Italy during the war, where he met his future wife Gina, an Italian national who was a “war bride” and later immigrated to the United States with Cad.

The couple’s subsequent nine children were named Daniela, Mario, Franco, Marisa, Alvara, Luana, Piero, Giuseppe, and Michele. Gina passed away on July 15, 1984, and Cad died at 60 on July 17, 1980.
