As Hallie opened up about her problems with being transgender, BIG Brother viewers sobbed.

The London-based youth worker admitted to her housemates that “I wasn’t being authentic yesterday” before sharing her story.

The 18-year-old invited her housemates to the kitchen table in Monday’s show and came out as transgender.

Hey guys, I just have to say something, she said. I felt like I wasn’t being wholly authentic yesterday.

If you didn’t already know, I thought I’d let everyone know that I’m trans. I simply wanted to be really clear about that.

“I’m a trans woman if you didn’t know.”

She later spoke candidly about the challenging transition process that so many transgender persons go through with Kerry and Jenkin in the dressing room.

I’ve never had a boyfriend, and I’ve never had sex, Hallie admitted.

“I’ve never engaged in sexual activity with anyone because I find my body uncomfortable.

“I feel at ease with myself. Sexual activity isn’t ultimately the most significant factor.

The best way to put it is that the mind and body don’t match, she continued.

The greatest way to sum up being trans is that. Like my body doesn’t fit my female thoughts, for example.

Big Brother viewers were quick to express their support, with one commenting, “Halle, I am not able for you, classic #BBUK #BigBrotherUK.

“Omg Hallie for the win #BigBrotherUK,” another wrote.

“Hallie has started so many really important conversations – both in the Big Brother house and in houses across the nation – by being open about herself – truly beautiful stuff,” someone else said.

Another said, “Big respect to Hallie.”

Big Brother’s first 19 seasons had two transgender winners: Luke Anderson in 2012 and Nadia Almada in 2004.
