ClassPass Wants You to Meet ‘The One’ This Valentines Day With New Workout Series

Fitness activities have recently become the go-to for finding dates. However, joining a running club for romance isn’t for everyone. So if you want to dip your toe into the world of fitness-based dating before signing up for that volleyball league, ClassPass has you covered. The booking platform is launching a nation-wide “Sweat Your Heart Out” series, which features workout sessions that are actually singles events in sweaty disguise.

Get ready to participate in the “Sweat Your Heart Out” classes happening on February 12 and 13 in various U.S. cities at six different locations, such as gyms, workout studios, and even indoor golf clubs. The classes are open to everyone, whether you are seeking love or friendship. The main idea behind these classes is to use fitness, sports, and exercise as a way to encourage social interaction and connections.

This event is launched just in time for Valentine’s Day, but it is inspired by the growing trends in fitness and dating. With social isolation becoming prevalent and a renewed focus on well-being and outdoor activities post-pandemic, activities like running clubs and recreational sports leagues have become popular places for intentionally meeting new people. Tired of dating apps, people are now seeking out activities and locations where they can meet others face-to-face. According to ClassPass, their data from 2024 shows a significant increase in community-focused sports like volleyball, soccer, and even ice skating.

Joining a dating workout class may seem awkward—how can you flirt while catching your breath? However, working out with a potential partner can also help in building a relationship, creating connections, and even setting the right vibe (with all the heavy breathing and increased blood flow). Moreover, ClassPass aims to facilitate the social aspect by offering ice breaker games, bingo cards, and cards that signal someone you are interested in connecting in the future. For those who are enthusiastic about fitness dating events, meeting through exercise ensures you engage with someone who shares your interests.

The venues include four interval training studios: Barry’s in New York City, Fusion Integrated Training in Detroit, Train Moment in Milwaukee, and Shred415 in Louisville, Seattle, Cincinnati, Salt Lake City, Chicago, St. Louis, and Indianapolis. The 12, a gym based in Costa Mesa, California, will also host, and indoor golf club Five Iron Golf will hold events in Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Las Vegas, and Cincinnati.

The events will cost the same as a standard workout class at their studios. You can find the full lineup below and book a spot via ClassPass or directly through the studio, If you do, we hope it’s your sweatiest Valentine’s Day ever—both during the class and maybe even with your new workout “buddy” afterward.
