In an interview on the morning news show on Monday, March 10, Gal was asked about the alarming incident. Her first piece of advice to viewers was to “advocate for your health,” stressing that “our body always gives us signs.”

“I ignored the warnings from my body,” she shared. “I had intense headaches for three weeks while I was eight months pregnant. I was practically incapacitated, unable to see or hear properly. It felt like my head was going to explode.”

She remembered being assessed by several neurologists, who couldn’t find any other symptoms and simply diagnosed her with a migraine. Ultimately, it was her mother who urged her to seek further medical help and get a hospital evaluation.

“My mother, who I talk to multiple times a day, finally told my husband after three weeks, ‘This is enough. We need to have her checked, do an MRI,’” she recalled, remembering the rainy day of February 5, 2024, in Los Angeles. “It felt like the world was ending.”

Despite her initial reluctance, her mother’s insistence led to a timely medical check-up, which turned out to be critical. “I was quickly taken to the hospital, where they found a significant brain clot,” Gal revealed. “They delivered the baby within a few hours, and I underwent a thrombectomy.”

She mentioned that while she is currently in good health, “if I had known earlier, it could have been much simpler,” and added, “Still, I am incredibly grateful to be alive and appreciate everything. Please make sure to take care of yourself.”

When asked why she chose to talk about this now, the Wonder Woman actress explained that she felt ready to share her story from the moment she returned to the ICU after her surgery, with the goal of raising awareness. However, her doctor advised her to prioritize her recovery first.

“It was a tough recovery,” she noted. “It took me several months to feel like my old self again. Now that I’ve reached this point, that’s why I want to share my experience,” highlighting the need for more awareness about women’s health, particularly regarding complications during pregnancy.

Reflecting on her health crisis on Instagram, Gal wrote: “My daughter, Ori, was born during that time of uncertainty and fear. Her name, which means ‘my light,’ was not chosen by chance.”

“Before the surgery, I told Jaron that when our daughter arrived, she would be the light waiting for me at the end of this tunnel,” she shared. Ori’s birth was announced in March 2024, and the actress managed to keep her entire pregnancy private.

“Thanks to an amazing team of doctors at @cedarssinai and weeks of dedicated care, I overcame this challenge and started my recovery journey. Today, I am fully healed and filled with gratitude for the life I have been given back.”
