James Martin Cancer Update: The Chef Has Taken Break From His TV Work

After battling illness with cancer, the chef, 51, reportedly revealed to a live audience in Liverpool that he is “getting sorted” this month.

James disclosed this summer that he underwent a face cancer removal procedure in 2018.

Additionally, it is reported that he disclosed this week that he is taking a “little bit of a break” to the crowd at one of his band’s live performances.

James reportedly said to the audience at Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall, “On a personal note, I just wanted to say thank you for 30 years of television,” according to The Mirror.

“I’ve personally gone through a lot of s*** with cancer, but by the end of the following month, things will be resolved.

“I will be back fighting at the end of February but I’m going on a little bit of a break to get that sorted.”

James continued, “I just wanted to say thank you for all your support and all your messages.” James is presently on tour with The James Martin Band.

The This Morning resident chef disclosed his cancer fight in July after being the target of shocking allegations of bullying.

“One of the most fraught and difficult periods of my life” was the end of 2017, James apologized.

He said that after having facial cancer surgery in 2018, the disease resurfaced “several times.”

He also talked about how his grandfather tragically died about the same time that he was robbed by a masked group.

James was heard swearing 42 times on leaked tape, expressing his irrational rage over a stopped drain at his house during Saturday Morning filming.

“On top of this, I was then diagnosed with cancer on my face and I had to have surgery, which I couldn’t do until two days before Christmas when we had finished filming,” James said, referring to his cancer diagnosis.

“Since then it has returned on several occasions and I have to have regular treatments.”

At the end of October, James confirmed that his Saturday Morning show had been renewed by ITV.

It was hanging in the balance after the audio clip was leaked.

Birmingham Live stated that James once more than thanked his audience during a live performance, saying, “I want to thank everyone for their support.”

“I’ve not been feeling well, and it’s been a challenging period.

But because ITV just reached a decision yesterday, I wanted to let you know about the future of my Saturday show.

“So, ITV has made the decision to give the Saturday program a one-year extension. We recently learned.”
