Joao Palhinha Illness: What Happened To Joao Palhinha?
The Fulham star Joao Palhinha had to leave the game against Brentford due to injury on Sunday night, raising doubts about a possible summer transfer.
After an amazing debut season in the Premier League, the Portuguese has been rumored to leave Craven Cottage in the summer. Fulham has informed West Ham that they will require a payment of £60 million.
However, a preseason injury could derail those intentions, with Palhinha walking hurt and wearing a temporary sling at Lincoln Financial Field’s halftime.
He contested for the ball near the center circle but came off worse as he immediately hit the deck holding his shoulder in pain.
Team medics were quickly rushed onto the pitch as the 28-year-old writhed in agony with it obvious that he would no longer be able to carry on in the friendly clash.

The aggressive midfielder for Fulham groaned in pain as he rose to his feet and was led away by physios who will start a thorough evaluation to determine the extent of his injuries.
Palhinha had his left arm in an improvised sling, his shirt folded up to support his forearm against his torso.
He was accompanied by a group of physiotherapists down the tunnel in Philadelphia and kept his arm supported all the journey back to the locker room.
If it turns out that Palhinha has a dislocated shoulder, it may be disastrous for both he and Fulham, as he would have to spend a lot of time in the hospital.
Fulham boss Marco Silva revealed after the match that a scan will take place on Monday to discover the severity of his injury, stating: ‘Unfortunately, it doesn’t look good. It looks like he has dislocated his shoulder.
‘Today [Monday] he has a scan, hopefully, it is not a long-term injury.’

If Palhinha’s shoulder dislocation is verified, surgery might be necessary.
When a shoulder dislocates, surgery is frequently necessary, and the injured muscles and ligaments must then undergo prolonged rehabilitation.
In order to prevent a recurrence, a sling is typically worn following surgery. Since a full recovery might take up to six months, Palhinha would miss the first part of the upcoming Premier League season.
The requirement for an instant replacement for Declan Rice when he left to join Arsenal would certainly cause interested parties to explore elsewhere for midfield options.
Palhinha was one of the English top-flight’s top-performing midfielders last season and made 35 league appearances, scoring three goals as Fulham finished in the top half of the Premier League standings.
