Linda Nolan Illness And Health Update
After malignant tumors were discovered on her brain, Linda Nolan made the agonizing decision to select her own casket and one of the songs to be sung at her burial.
Nearly 20 years after receiving her initial cancer diagnosis, the singer, 64, was informed by physicians six weeks ago that an MRI imaging showed she had two sizable tumours encircled by smaller ones.
After receiving a breast cancer diagnosis in 2005, Linda underwent a mastectomy and 18 rounds of chemotherapy. She lost her husband Brian in 2007 and her younger sister Bernie to the disease in 2013, but her oldest daughter Anne conquered the disease.
Linda had cancer returned in her hip in 2017 and in her liver in 2020. She is currently awaiting the results of another MRI scan to see if the tumors on her brain have reduced after receiving 11 radiotherapy treatments and taking steroids.
She admits she often finds it difficult to hold on to hope and has started making plans for her funeral in an effort to make things easier for her family, even though she is scheduled to take a new chemotherapy medication called Tucatinib “to give me more time.”
She told the Mirror that Brian had organized a magnificent funeral.
“Bernie set up hers.” Those who were left behind find it simpler. I’ve briefly discussed it. Our Last Song Together, a song by Neil Sedaka. And I already know who I’ll call for funeral services.
Brian’s coffin resembled a flight case and was labeled “This way up” and “Fragile.”
“Our auntie had a lovely casket with images of us all over it.”
“Look at this coffin, it was made for you, it’s pink glitter,” stated Maureen at that point.
She said, “Absolutely,” when asked whether that was what she intended to select.
Linda now uses a stick and a frame to help her walk and has moved in with her sister Denise in Blackpool, with her other sister Maureen visiting every day.
She explained how she struggles to move at time, with her right foot being ‘practically paralyzed’.

Emotional: Linda and her family have had heartbreaking battles with cancer, including her late husband Brian who died from the disease in 2007 (Linda and Brian pictured at their wedding in 1981)
Her sister Denise cooks for her and cleans, and makes the bed in a bid to make things as comfortable for her as possible.
However, she is still focusing on what she can do when she is healthy enough, with Linda insisting she is going to book a big house in the Lake District soon so her family can spend time together and ‘make memories’.
Last month, Linda pulled out of work appearances after revealing her cancer has spread to her brain.
During an emotional interview on Monday’s edition of Good Morning Britain, she told ITV viewers that the cancer has spread to her brain, but she’s ‘not giving up’.
Linda was supposed to take part in a meet and greet with fans just days after the interview in Inverness alongside Kerry Katona, Gail Porter and Gayle Telfer Stevens.
However, a message on their Instagram page read: ‘We were all gutted to hear the news about Linda Nolan today.
‘Unfortunately, this does mean that she will not be joining us this weekend but we wish her all the very best wishes and our thoughts are with her and her family. xx.’
Linda is still listed to attend dates for Lunch & Laughs Live in September.

The singer, who just turned 64, was given the all-clear in 2006 after being given a stage-three breast cancer diagnosis in 2005. But in 2017, her hip was found to have an inoperable secondary malignancy that would later spread to her liver.
She stated to GMB hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley last month that she had always been optimistic about her therapy and her personal situation.
I just want to let you know that, unfortunately for me, my cancer has gone to my brain. This is scary because the only available treatment for brain cancer is chemotherapy.
‘I’m not giving up,’ she continued. I’m certain. I’m going to lose my hair once more, making four.
I went back in with my sister to live because I was falling and the brain cancer was impairing my balance. I had three really bad falls.
Along with Kerry Katona, Gail Porter, and Gayle Telfer Stevens, Linda was scheduled to participate in a meet & greet with fans in Inverness.
So, my wonderful family, I’m back to living with my sister Denise and her partner, as usual. For the past few weeks, Maureen has taken care of me.
I just bought a wheelchair, and we’re truly preparing for the inevitable. This excursion is terrifying to be on.
“I don’t know how long I’ve got left,” Linda remarked, attempting to maintain a positive attitude. “And that’s not me being morbid or anything, but I don’t know, none of us really know.” Making the most of each day and spending it with the people I love is what it means to me. Simply being upbeat.
Yes, I’ve already defeated it. I’ve been battling it since 2005, and I’ve already defeated it, so hopefully I can do that again. Naturally, with the excellent support I’ve always received from the NHS.
