Peyton Hillis Critical Condition And Accident- What Happened To Him?

After saving his children from drowning in a Florida ocean, Peyton Hillis, a former star running back for the Cleveland Browns, is apparently unconscious and in an ICU.

Hillis was able to make sure his children were okay, but he ended up in the intensive care unit

According to KNWA, Hillis rescued his children from a swimming accident in Pensacola, Florida, and was airlifted to a nearby hospital. His respiration “is better,” they continued.

According to a Facebook post allegedly written by Hillis’ uncle, Peyton is “doing well.”

‘He’s still in intensive care and having some problems with his kidneys and his lungs but the doctors say he is improving,’ the post read.

Hillis accrued 1,197 receiving yards and 960 rushing yards during the course of his four years at the University of Arkansas, contributing to a total of 23 touchdowns.

Hillis gained the majority of his notoriety during his time with Cleveland in 2010, when he amassed 1,600 total yards and 13 total touchdowns.

He was chosen by the public to be the cover athlete for the video game EA Sports Madden 12 as a consequence of that campaign.

He left Cleveland after playing there for two seasons and signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as a free agent. He spent time playing for the New York Giants and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before calling it a day in his professional career.

On the advice of his doctor, Hillis resigned in 2015 due to a history of concussions.

In 2015, he opened up to Bleacher Report about his open battles with mental illness and sadness as he made the decision to quit the sport he adored.

Hillis’ outstanding 2010 campaign earned him fan votes to be on the Madden 12 cover for EA Sports.

Hillis left football in 2015 after stints with the Chiefs, Buccaneers, and Giants.

He specifically referred to his time spent in Cleveland as “a truly severe depressive period.” “I was receiving therapy because I couldn’t sleep; I was furious that everything was happening the way it was and nobody could comprehend.”

Of his decision to retire, he said: ‘After a while, it got too hard. I didn’t care as much anymore, I didn’t care to work at it. Football brought me down. I still love the game and I still have a lot of friends in the game, but as far as NFL football goes, my heart’s just not in it anymore.’

In the 2021 horror film “The Hunting,” the two were the main characters.

As it was filmed in the Cleveland suburb of Mantua, Ohio, the movie served as a sort of homecoming for Hillis.
