A steel cup that was forced up an inebriated man’s anus became trapped and had to be retrieved from his body.

On October 4, Ritesh Kumar, 22, of Bettiah, India, hurried to the Patna Medical College Hospital because he was in excruciating pain and had a bleeding rectum.

According to local media, the 7cm (2.75in) diameter cup was causing him excruciating stomach aches by obstructing his bowel motions.

Scans revealed the 14cm (5.5in) long cup was inside his body and he went under the knife for two-and-a-half hours to have it removed from his belly.

The technique was dangerous, but 11 doctors successfully removed the cup, according to the surgery’s director, Dr. Indra Shekhar Kumar.

In order to help Mr. Kumar’s wounds heal, a colostomy was performed, which involves cutting a portion of the colon and fitting a stoma bag.

His colostomy will be reversed in January, and doctors want to release him within the next week.

He asserts that he was inebriated when the cup was placed into his anus and that he is unable to recall what took place.

The doctors’ team member Dr. Kumar Vaibhav Sharma, a senior resident, told the Hindustan Times that the steel glass was put through the patient’s anus.

‘This is a very rare case, mostly seen in psychiatric patients or those who are intoxicated.

‘Our surgeons removed the metal glass after performing the surgery through the patient’s abdomen at 4 am, within a couple of hours of his admission.’

Ten days after being inserted in a drunken prank, a guy had a cup removed in a similar occurrence in August.
