Stephen Fry Hospitalized: What Happened To Stephen Fry?
After crashing to the ground and falling off the O2 stage, STEPHEN Fry was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
The tragedy occurred on Thursday in London as the actor, 66, was delivering a speech at an AI and technology festival.
At the CogX Festival, Mr. Fry was leaving the stage when, according to sources, he fell six feet off the edge.
He was hurt in the ribs and the leg before being brought to the hospital.
It’s unclear if the former QI host is still being treated there.
According to a person who spoke to MailOnline, Mr. Fry was wheeled away.
They said, “It appeared to be extremely dark, and there didn’t appear to be a guardrail.
He fell two meters to the ground.
A call was made for the London Ambulance Service to respond.
“We were called today at 11:31am to reports of an incident at the O2 Arena, in Peninsula Square,” a spokesperson said.
“We dispatched an ambulance team, an incident response officer, and a medic in a fast-response vehicle to the area.
Before transporting a man to the hospital, we treated him for rib and leg injuries.
Since then, CogX Festival has opened an investigation into the incident.
“We were deeply concerned to hear of Stephen’s accident following his motivational speech on the effects of AI,” a spokeswoman stated.
We’re thinking of him and sending our best wishes for a quick recovery.
We have started our own investigation, therefore we are unable to give any additional information at this time.
The incident is currently the subject of an investigation by Greenwich Council.
“Thank you for the superb talk at CogX,” one attendee who paid the admission fee wrote on X/Twitter after the event. After a fall, I hope you’re doing okay as well.
Over 500 speakers participated in the event, which cost £495 per ticket and lasted three days.
It’s estimated that 90,000 people were present.
