Pant’s car hit the road divider last Friday, causing his Mercedes to crash and burst into flames

Following the collision, Pant was seen soaked in blood and visibly unsteady as neighbors assisted him.

Pant “will be brought to Mumbai in an air ambulance,” according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and admitted to a prestigious private hospital.

The BCCI announced that Rishabh would have surgery and further operations to repair ligament tears, and that the BCCI Medical Team would continue to keep an eye on him as he recovered and through rehabilitation.

The athlete suffered injuries to his wrist, ankle, and back in addition to tearing a ligament in his right knee, according to a previous statement from the BCCI.

Shyam Sharma, the director of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), told AFP that Pant was “recovering nicely.”

Pant sustained numerous abrasions, tears in his ligaments, and lacerations, but none of his wounds were life-threatening.

Maverick batsman Pant, a stalwart of the Test team, has contributed significantly to some of India’s most memorable victories over the past three years.

In the lucrative Indian Premier League, he also captains the city squad for Delhi and represents the city on the local stage.

Pant was not selected for the current Sri Lankan T20 and ODI tour a few days prior to the accident.

Days after scoring 93 runs in the second Test against Bangladesh to help India win the match and the series 2-0, he was overlooked.
