1 arrested in connection with early morning fatal shooting

SAVANNAH, Ga. () – The Savannah Police Department (SPD) has arrested one individual in connection with an early morning shooting that claimed the life of one person.

SPD has arrested Nathaniel Leonard Lewis, 21, and charged him with murder in connection with a fatal shooting near Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and W. 35th St. 

Around 4:40 a.m., police arrived on the scene based on a ShotSpotter report and located an adult male. He was unresponsive on the ground in front of a residence suffering from a gunshot wound. 

The victim was provided medical treatment and transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center where he succumbed to his wounds.
