TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA)— An 18-year-old has been arrested after an argument during a basketball game at Plantation Park left one dead and one injured, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.
Anthony Cabrera Morales, 18, was arrested on Mar. 5, after detectives interviewed multiple witnesses who identified Cabrera Morales as the shooter.

Cabrera Morales is charged with attempted murder in the first-degree premeditated firearm, great bodily harm, and murder in the second-degree firearm, great bodily harm/death.
“This arrest cannot undo the tragic loss of life, but I’m proud of our detective’s hard work finding and arresting this individual quickly,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Acts of violence in our community will be met with a swift response, and we will bring those responsible to justice.”
On March 4, at 7:24 p.m., deputies were dispatched to Plantation Park in regards to shots fired.
Deputies arrived at the scene and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to the hospital where one of the victims, Brian Jones, 19, died from his injuries, deputies said.
During an investigation, detectives learned that a fight broke out during a basketball game.
