LITTLE TORCH KEY, Fla. (WFLA) — Three people were arrested Thursday after deputies said a bullet fired at a makeshift target range went into a couple’s home in the Florida Keys.
The couple was reportedly in the upstairs bedroom at their home on Pirates Road in Little Torch Key with their dogs when the bullet entered the room, breaking a window and a glass door.
Deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from the couple around 4 p.m. reporting that shots had been fired.
While at their home, authorities said they heard “several active gunshots” coming from down the street on Kings Cove Road.
Investigators traced the gunfire to a makeshift target range that had been set up facing Pirates Road.

Three people were at the range: Robert Andrew Mayette, 51, Jessica Ellen Rene Hargrove, 25, and Nathan John David Charter-Kimberly, 24.
According to the sheriff’s office, Charter-Kimberly was holding a Smith & Wesson AR-15 rifle and a handgun.
Deputies said all three suspects admitted to shooting the rifle at the homemade target range.
While no injuries were reported, they each were charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm and culpable negligence.
