Cosco 2-Step Kitchen Stepper recall

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — More than 300,000 kitchen stools were recalled after two people fell and suffered head injuries.

The recall involves the Cosco 2-Step Kitchen Stepper, which has a safety bar attached to the back. According to the recall notice, there have been 34 reports of the safety bar detaching or breaking.

The affected stools were sold from February 2021 through July 2025 at several retailers, including Target, Walmart, the Home Depot, Lowe’s, and BJ’s Wholesale Club. They were also sold online at Amazon.com, Wayfair.com, and Overstock.com. They came in blue, navy, green or white/gray and have the Cosco logo molded into the step handle.

The recall includes several model numbers, which are printed on a label on one of the arms.

Buyers should immediately stop using the step stools and contact the manufacturer for a free repair kit. Among the 34 reports of incidents with the stools, two incidents resulted in head injuries, according to the recall.
