TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) — The four suspects who were linked to the shooting of Florida State University linebacker Ethan Pritchard are being held on no bond, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) announced Friday.

FDLE said Caron Miller, 18, Jayden Bodison, 22, Germany Atkins, 23, and a 16-year-old were taken into custody on Wednesday following multiple search warrants.

Law enforcement officers said Pritchard was driving with his aunt and a 3-year-old when they were “ambushed in gunfire” on Aug. 31.

Pritchard was critically injured. His aunt and the 3-year-old were not hurt.

Investigators believe the shooting was in retaliation for another shooting that happened earlier in the week.

“This was a perfect storm of the victims being in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Keith Wilmer, Special Agent in Charge for the Tallahassee Regional Operations Center, said during a news conference on Wednesday.

Miller, Bodison, Atkins and the 16-year-old were charged with attempted murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle, FDLE said.

The suspects had their first appearance before a judge on Thursday. They were ordered to be held on no bond.

The State Attorney’s Office of the Second Judicial Circuit is prosecuting the case.
