HAINES CITY, Fla. (WFLA) — As the investigation into a “targeted” shooting that left one woman dead and another injured continues, the Haines City Police Department has increased the reward amount for information leading to an arrest.

The police department announced Thursday that it was adding $2,500 to the $5,000 reward being offered by Heartland Crime Stoppers, bringing the total reward amount to $7,500.

Anyone who provides information leading to the arrest of the individual or individuals involved in the Dec. 27 homicide could be eligible for the reward.

According to police, the two victims were traveling together in a vehicle when a dark colored, four-door sedan pulled up behind them and opened fire.

Investigators believe the two women were “intentionally targeted.” However, detectives have not released a motive.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have information about the incident to contact the Haines City Police Department or Heartland Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous.
