JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Johnson City Police Department (JCPD) charged a 91-year-old man with multiple sex crimes against children on Friday. The man allegedly assaulted a child in his home in 2010 and lured a child into his home in June, according to a news release from the department.

The JCPD said Joseph Luberto, 91, was indicted by a grand jury on two counts of rape of a child and two counts of sexual battery.

The release stated that the investigation began after the JCPD’s Special Victims Unit was made aware of an incident in 2010, when Luberto allegedly assaulted a child at his residence.

A separate grand jury indictment also charged Luberto with aggravated sexual battery after a different investigation that revealed, in late June, Luberto allegedly lured a child under the age of 13 into his home, the release said.

Luberto was transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
