BLUFFTON, S.C. () – Three stores at the Tanger Outlets in Bluffton were left with gaping holes in their walls, one of them out more than a million dollars in merchandise after a robbery that happened last Friday.

Deputies were called Saturday morning after an employee at the Salty Dog retail store arrived and found the front doors unlocked, according to the police report from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).

Law enforcement found several holes in the wall that appear to have been created by a Sawzall, one of them leading into the Sunglass Hut next door and into the neighboring Claire’s store.

When officers entered the Sunglass Hut, they found almost every pair of glasses in the entire store missing, and the security cameras as well as phone lines had been cut.

BCSO estimated that about 1600 pairs of sunglasses were stolen, totaling around 1 million dollars in value.
