YEMASSEE, S.C. () — A manhunt is underway in Colleton County, according to information from the Yemassee Police Department (YPD).

The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and YPD are searching for Emily Higgins. A 5-foot-2-inch-tall female, weighing approximately 120 pounds, with green eyes, brown hair and wearing a light gray outfit.

A stolen vehicle reportedly fled onto Highway 21 near I-95, where it stalled and caught on fire. According to police, the driver and passenger fled the scene on foot.

The driver was apprehended by K9 Rio and identified as Justin Bessinger. CCSO and YPD are still searching for Higgins, who is believed to be wanted in multiple jurisdictions.
