CSRA News Update: A man from Aiken County, who was initially detained in August for a series of offenses, is now facing additional charges, as announced by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division this Wednesday.
Tyrone James, 50, was previously taken into custody on charges of assault, kidnapping, and criminal sexual conduct involving a minor.
On October 29, authorities from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division revealed that James is facing new charges, including kidnapping, third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, and assault with the intent to commit third-degree criminal sexual conduct. These charges were filed on Friday, October 24.
According to the arrest warrants, James is accused of forcibly taking a minor into a car and committing a sexual assault in 2008 in Barnwell County. Another warrant accuses him of a separate sexual assault incident in 2017.
James is currently being held at the Aiken County Detention Center.
