AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. – The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office is reaching out to the community for assistance in solving a cold case murder.

On October 12, 2020, tragedy struck a local family when their beloved patriarch, Stanley Berry Brown, was discovered lifeless in his Graniteville residence. His son found him lying face down on the bedroom floor, unresponsive.

Upon receiving the emergency call, both emergency medical services and the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office swiftly arrived at the scene. Unfortunately, Mr. Brown was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival.

Detectives from the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office launched an immediate investigation, meticulously gathering evidence and conducting interviews. Despite their efforts, no arrests have been made to date.

Five years have passed since that fateful day, yet Mr. Brown’s family continues to grapple with the profound loss and the unresolved nature of his death.

Authorities say the investigation into his murder has not ended and continues to this day.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office as well as the victim’s family continue to be hopeful for anyone
with information to be a voice for Mr. Brown and please come forward.

When someone cares, there is always hope. It takes a community to be a “Voice for the Voiceless”.

No investigation is complete without the community support.
